Samuel S. Ory

Mr. Ory has been practicing as a counselor and litigator in Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy since 1994. Mr. Ory’s practice is wide-ranging. He has represented the full panoply of clients in business bankruptcy cases: debtors, Chapter 11 trustees, creditors’ committees, secured creditors, Indenture Trustees for both secured first, second and unsecured bonds and notes, debtor-in-possession post-petition financing lenders, unsecured creditors, investors and purchasers of companies and assets in bankruptcy. Mr. Ory also has substantial experience in out-of-court workouts.

Biography

Mr. Ory’s practice also encompasses litigation, both in adversarial proceedings arising within bankruptcy cases as well as general commercial litigation in both state and federal courts, including arguing appeals before District Courts, Bankruptcy Appellate Panels, and the Courts of Appeal in the 8th and 9th Circuits. 

 

Mr. Ory joined Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers in 2009. Prior to that time Mr. Ory practiced in the Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, LLC, and in the Kansas City office of Bryan Cave, LLP before that.
