Ari Rotenberg has 27 years of transactional experience representing clients in complex real estate, banking, development, construction, and finance matters. His practice focuses on sophisticated commercial lending transactions, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development projects, workouts, and structured finance matters.

He is known for efficiently managing complex transactions while balancing business objectives, operational realities, and risk management considerations.
Ari has represented financial institutions, Fortune 100 companies, and nonprofit organizations in a wide variety of capacities, including as lenders, administrative agents, borrowers, developers, buyers, sellers, franchisees, landlords, and tenants. His experience includes secured lending transactions involving senior, subordinated, and mezzanine debt structures, participations, assignments, sales, securitizations, and loan workouts.
His transactional experience spans numerous asset classes, including office buildings, medical office facilities, shopping centers, mixed-use developments, hotels, casinos, marinas, golf courses, restaurants, gas stations, condominiums, and tax credit investments.
Before joining Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers in 2013, Ari served as a Vice President in the Real Estate Managed Assets Group at Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. in Chicago. Prior to that role, he practiced in Chicago with Sidley Austin LLP, Field and Goldberg LLC, and Neal Gerber & Eisenberg LLP.
Ari also served as a former Adjunct Professor of Law at DePaul University College of Law.
